Stepping Out in Faith

Scripture:   In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Ephesians 3:12 NKJV

Greetings Bloggers

This time I decided to write to you instead of vlogging.  I hope to capture the very essence that I experienced during my travels in August celebrating my birthday.  I pray my experience will empower you as well to "Step Out in Faith."  Life is a journey filled with uncertainties and unexpected turns. At times, we find ourselves standing at the edge of a new chapter, grappling with the choice to step out in faith or remain in the comfort of the known. Stepping out in faith is not about having all the answers but about trusting in a higher purpose and embracing the journey with courage and hope.

I came to the realization when I decided to Zipline at Ruby Falls.  This was my second time ziplining, but it was a little different. The zipline course was a little higher and longer than before.  The person in charge told each of us we needed to jump to start the process.  Several of us, including myself, had that moment of hesitation.  Jump I thought.  Then I said to myself “is she crazy.”   In a millisecond I thought about turning around and saying, “no.”  But I caught myself turning back; the old me was trying to come forth, the one who was fearful and afraid of change.   As I heard myself saying one thing, my heart was saying Chavonne you can do it, “Step out in Faith.”   So, I did, and the experience was exhilarating.

The Essence of Faith

Faith is a powerful force that transcends our understanding. It’s the quiet assurance that despite the challenges we face, there is a guiding light leading us forward. Stepping out in faith means committing to a path without knowing the exact outcome but trusting that every step will bring us closer to where we need to be. It’s a leap beyond our comfort zones into the realm of possibilities.  I took that leap by jump off the ledge into the wonderous world of uncertainty…Ziplining.

The Call to Step Out

There are countless stories of individuals who have stepped out in faith and found their lives transformed. Consider the story of Abraham, who left his homeland to follow a promise of a new and blessed life. His journey was fraught with uncertainty, yet his faith guided him through trials and tribulations.

In a modern context, stepping out in faith might mean pursuing a new career, starting a business, writing a book, or moving to a new city. It could be a call to mend relationships, embrace new opportunities, or follow a passion. Each of these steps involves risk and requires us to trust in the Lord, for he is the one who is greater than ourselves.

Overcoming Fear and Doubt

Fear and doubt are natural responses when facing the unknown. We may question our abilities, worry about failure, or be anxious about potential obstacles. However, stepping out in faith involves recognizing these fears but choosing to move forward despite them. It’s about replacing fear with faith and doubt with hope.

Practical Steps to Stepping Out in Faith:

1.     Reflect and Pray: Begin by seeking clarity through prayer or meditation. Reflect on your desires and fears and ask for guidance and strength to take the next step.

2.    Set Clear Intentions: Define what stepping out in faith means for you. Set clear, achievable goals and identify the steps needed to reach them.

3.    Seek Support: Surround yourself with supportive people who encourage your journey. Share your aspirations with friends, family, or mentors who can provide advice and encouragement.

4.    Embrace the Journey: Understand that stepping out in faith is a journey filled with ups and downs. Be prepared for challenges but remain focused on your purpose and vision.

5.     Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge and celebrate each milestone along the way. Each step forward, no matter how small, is a testament to your faith and perseverance.

The Impact of Stepping Out in Faith

When we step out in faith, we open ourselves to new possibilities and experiences. We grow personally and spiritually, develop resilience, and often discover strengths we didn’t know we had. Moreover, our actions can inspire others to take their own leaps of faith, creating a ripple effect of courage and hope. I hope the experience I shared will cause you to take the Leap of faith.  I did and I will continue to do so in every area of my life: career, business & ministry.   I want you to do the same.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts full of anticipation and courage. We thank You for the gift of faith and the promise that You are with us every step of the way. As we stand on the threshold of new beginnings, we ask for Your guidance and strength. Help us to trust in Your plan and to embrace the journey ahead with unwavering faith. For your word says, Trust in you with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding; in all our ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths, Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV.  When fear and doubt arise, we stand on your word, Fear not for you are with us Isaiah 41:10.  Lord, always remind us of Your presence and the hope You offer. Grant us the wisdom to make decisions that align with Your will and the courage to move forward even when the path is unclear.

May our steps be guided by Your light and our actions reflect Your love. We pray for Your blessings upon our endeavors and ask that You use our journey to bring glory to Your name.  In Jesus name, we pray Amen.
