"How Has Prayer Changed Your Life?"-- Minister Lorri Weaver

Meet Minister Lorri Weaver— A true Titus 2 Woman!

In this week’s blog, I am honored to shine a light on one of the remarkable individuals who faithfully serves within the Watchmen International community. It brings me great joy to introduce Minister Lorri Weaver. I have had the privilege of mentoring Lorri through discipleship and witnessing her growth in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord.

Our connection was not the result of coincidence — it was divine providence. Lorri often shares how she had been seeking women of God who were authentic and steadfast in their walk. In 2020, during a 24-hour prayer event I participated in, Lorri encountered me and several other women of faith for the first time. What began as a single moment of connection blossomed into a lasting sisterhood.

Lorri is a military veteran and a former healthcare professional. Alongside her service, she is the proud mother of four beautiful children and three wonderful grand-loves!! Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lorri is a devoted disciple of Christ who serves faithfully at Legacy Church, Lancaster,PA. She is also an entrepreneur with a genuine heart for God’s people.

Her life reflects a deep hunger for the presence of God and an ever-growing boldness to share His truth with others. I believe the words Lorri shares in this reflection will not only inspire and challenge you but will also remind you of how deeply you matter to God.

"How Has Prayer Changed Your Life?"--

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” — James 5:16 (NIV)

Over the years, I have come to know firsthand the life-changing power of prayer. Prayer isn’t just words we send into the atmosphere — it is a divine conversation, an invitation for God to move in our lives in ways we could never orchestrate ourselves. One particular season in my life taught me both the power of prayer and the beauty of obedience. I had been working at a nursing home for over ten years. My co-workers had witnessed my journey of surrender as I gave my life to the Lord and began walking in His ways. As I learned to pray, God began opening unexpected doors for me.

A position opened up in the medical records department, one typically requiring an LPN license or formal medical training. Years earlier, I had worked in a large doctor’s office in medical records, but no one at the nursing home knew that. One day, the lady leaving that position called me and said, “I want you to apply for this position.” I was surprised and asked her why. She replied, “I believe you will do well in this role.”

She even went to the Executive Director to recommend me. Though hesitant, he agreed to give me a chance. The first six months were challenging as I worked diligently to organize the department. But then something extraordinary happened — the next six months, I found I could complete my daily work in just a few hours, leaving me with time to read God’s Word, pray for my co-workers, and grow deeper in my relationship with the Lord. I set up a prayer board in my office where friends and colleagues would leave prayer requests or stop by for prayer. Looking back, I believe this was God’s divine plan — to give me that time to grow in His Word, in prayer, to hear His voice, and to learn obedience. Just before the company began to fall apart, God transitioned me to a new opportunity in a doctor’s office, marking the beginning of a new season.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Since 2015, I have witnessed God move through prayer in mighty ways — testimony after testimony. One of the most recent happened in late November 2024. I wasn’t feeling well for over a week. I prayed for healing, but my symptoms worsened — I was short of breath and fatigued. Eventually, I went to the Emergency Room, where they diagnosed me with pneumonia. I stayed overnight for observation and was released the next day.

Concerned, my daughter called my mentors and friends — three strong intercessors — and they immediately began to pray. I began feeling somewhat better, but on Christmas morning, I found myself gasping for air. I rushed back to the Emergency Room, fearing I might not see another day. I ended up on a high-flow oxygen machine. Once again, my daughter called our prayer warriors. This time, they arranged a phone call so we could take communion and pray together. Within 24 hours, I was weaned off the high-flow machine to a regular oxygen machine, and soon after, I was breathing room air without assistance. I spent four days in the hospital, but by the grace of God, I have had no further breathing issues.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)

Prayer has changed my life. It has opened doors, provided direction, healed my body, and deepened my relationship with the Lord. My encouragement to you is this: surrender your heart to God, trust Him, and never underestimate the power of prayer. He is faithful to move in ways that far exceed our understanding.

To God be the glory!
