Count It All Joy

Scripture: James 1:2 Welcome to the Watchmen Blog! It is my prayer that this post will inspire all but especially intercessors.  Recently, I was on a prayer call with my core team.  That day was challenging for all of us. The enemy was attacking each of us differently from every angle.  We know the enemy’s agenda is to distract us and to get us off the wall.  My crisis on that day was financial.  One of the areas I have been working on is building up my savings account.  So when I discovered a nail in my tire in the most peculiar place; I was livid.  Replacing a tire or tires was not my intention later in the year.  In addition to what I was experiencing; another core team members decided not to join the call as well.  She was having a challenge in her life. Despite my trial, I encouraged her to join the call, so she could be in the midst of the prayer.  Be immersed in God’s presence.  As we began to intercede that night, I h...

Waiting On The Lord

Image
In the hustle and bustle of life, where instant gratification is often celebrated, the art of patiently waiting on God can feel like a lost virtue especially as it pertains to receiving answers to our prayers.  As intercessors, it is our assignment to labor in prayer for individuals, communities and/or nations.  In some instances, we desire the answers immediately to our prayers.  How many times have you asked God for something specific in prayer but no response? The psalmist echoes this sentiment in Psalm 37:7a, be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.  In a world where impatience often leads to anxiety and restlessness, the call to stillness before God is revolutionary. It is an invitation to surrender our need for control and our timelines to His perfect plan. As you wait, I encourage you to refrain from anger, doubt, fear, and forsake wrath, trusting that God will respond to your prayers in due season. So, embrace the discipline of waiting on the Lord...

The Power of Prayer

Image
In Fall 2008, while in discipleship class prayer came alive for me. I know this statement may be shocking to some but up until that day my prayer life was minimal. I knew the Lord’s prayer, I knew how to pray over my food, but never would I imagine that I would experience the magnitude of the power of prayer.  That one day changed my life forever, I recognized the gift of intercession within me. Prayer at its core is more than just words whispered into the atmosphere. It is a deep communion with the Almighty, a sacred dialogue between the finite and infinite. It is a journey into our deepest longings, joys, fears and gratitude flow into the arms of the Divine. Prayer is a steadfast anchor, connecting us to our Lord. James 5:16b reminds us of the profound truth: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” This passage of scripture speaks of intensity, of earnestness, of a heart ablaze with passion. When we pray with fervor, we are not just going through ...
