Great is thy faithfulness

Scripture:   The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV One of the many wondrous things God does for me is waking me up with a song of worship in my heart. This morning, the hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness" resonated deeply within me. I found myself singing it all the way to work, reflecting on the faithfulness of God. Merriam-Webster defines faithfulness as being steadfast in affection or allegiance (loyalty) or providing strong assurance (binding).  Representing all the qualities and attributes of our relationship with the Father in Heaven.  As I sang the hymn, I remembered all the times God has been faithful, even when I turned away from Him. I recall my high school graduation and the transition to college. During that time, I distanced myself from the church—not because of people, but due to its strictness. In my mind, I sought freedom.
