The Role of Intercessors in Revival (Part I)

Image
Why Prayer is the Key to Revival… In many Western nations, faith is on the decline. Churches are struggling, and an increasing number of people are walking away from their faith, especially the millennials. But throughout history, revival has always been preceded by one key factor: prayer. If we want to see a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our communities, workplaces, and schools, we must take our place as intercessor spiritual warriors standing in the gap for this generation. What is an Intercessor? An intercessor is someone who prays on behalf of others, calling on God to intervene in their lives. In Ezekiel 22:30, God says, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land…” Revival requires believers willing to intercede for their families, cities, and nations.  Intercession must continue until the prayers come into fruition. Why is Intercessory Prayer Crucial for Revival? It prepares hearts – Before reviv...

Staying Steadfast in Prayer: A Reflection on Philippians 4:4-7

Image
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with  thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God,  Philippians 4:6 NKJV. In Philippians 4:4-7, Paul encourages us to “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”   This passage of scripture reminds us of the power and peace found in prayer. Life can often feel overwhelming, and it's easy to become anxious about the uncertainties we face. But Paul teaches us that prayer is our pathway to peace.  What have you petitioned God for in 2025 in prayer?  Through prayer and thanksgiving, we can release our worries and rest in God’s presence. Knowing that God will answer us in H...

Standing Guard Against the Spirit of Affliction

Image
Standing Guard Against the Spirit of Affliction Scripture : He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds, you have been healed . – 1 Peter2:24 (ESV) As I approached 2025, I began seeking the Lord about 2025. He revealed that the Spirit of Affliction will attempt to infiltrate the body of Christ. This tactic of the enemy is designed to distract, discourage, and divide believers from their God-ordained purpose. But we must remember, affliction is not of God. It is a scheme to shift our focus from His promises and healing power. 1 Peter 2:24 reminds us that Jesus already bore our sins and afflictions on the cross. His sacrifice was complete, and through His wounds, we are healed—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. This truth is our foundation when the enemy attempts to sow affliction. Now, more than ever, the call for warriors and watchmen is urgent. We must remain vigilant on the wall, standing firm in pra...

Great is thy faithfulness

Image
Scripture:   The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV One of the many wondrous things God does for me is waking me up with a song of worship in my heart. This morning, the hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness" resonated deeply within me. I found myself singing it all the way to work, reflecting on the faithfulness of God. Merriam-Webster defines faithfulness as being steadfast in affection or allegiance (loyalty) or providing strong assurance (binding).  Representing all the qualities and attributes of our relationship with the Father in Heaven.  As I sang the hymn, I remembered all the times God has been faithful, even when I turned away from Him. I recall my high school graduation and the transition to college. During that time, I distanced myself from the church—not because of people, but due to its strictness. In my mind, I sought freedom. The Lifetime...

Stepping Out in Faith

Image
Scripture:    In whom we have boldness and access  with confidence through faith in Him. Ephesians 3:12 NKJV   Greetings Bloggers  This time I decided to write to you instead of vlogging.  I hope to capture the very essence that I experienced during my travels in August celebrating my birthday.  I pray my experience will empower you as well to "Step Out in Faith."  Life is a journey filled with uncertainties and unexpected turns. At times, we find ourselves standing at the edge of a new chapter, grappling with the choice to step out in faith or remain in the comfort of the known. Stepping out in faith is not about having all the answers but about trusting in a higher purpose and embracing the journey with courage and hope.  I came to the realization when I decided to Zipline at Ruby Falls.  This was my second time ziplining, but it was a little different. The zipline course was a little higher and longer than before.  The perso...

Count It All Joy

Image
Scripture: James 1:2 Welcome to the Watchmen Blog! It is my prayer that this post will inspire all but especially intercessors.  Recently, I was on a prayer call with my core team.  That day was challenging for all of us. The enemy was attacking each of us differently from every angle.  We know the enemy’s agenda is to distract us and to get us off the wall.  My crisis on that day was financial.  One of the areas I have been working on is building up my savings account.  So when I discovered a nail in my tire in the most peculiar place; I was livid.  Replacing a tire or tires was not my intention later in the year.  In addition to what I was experiencing; another core team members decided not to join the call as well.  She was having a challenge in her life. Despite my trial, I encouraged her to join the call, so she could be in the midst of the prayer.  Be immersed in God’s presence.  As we began to intercede that night, I h...

Waiting On The Lord

Image
In the hustle and bustle of life, where instant gratification is often celebrated, the art of patiently waiting on God can feel like a lost virtue especially as it pertains to receiving answers to our prayers.  As intercessors, it is our assignment to labor in prayer for individuals, communities and/or nations.  In some instances, we desire the answers immediately to our prayers.  How many times have you asked God for something specific in prayer but no response? The psalmist echoes this sentiment in Psalm 37:7a, be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.  In a world where impatience often leads to anxiety and restlessness, the call to stillness before God is revolutionary. It is an invitation to surrender our need for control and our timelines to His perfect plan. As you wait, I encourage you to refrain from anger, doubt, fear, and forsake wrath, trusting that God will respond to your prayers in due season. So, embrace the discipline of waiting on the Lord...
